Background
A Paducah native, Miller received bachelor’s degrees in History and German from Wake Forest University in 2001. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2004, where he was a staff member of the Kentucky Law Journal. Miller is admitted to practice in all Kentucky state courts, the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Experience
After completing his education, Miller returned to Paducah and joined Bradley, Freed & Grumley, P.S.C., in 2004. He became a Member of the firm in 2010. Miller’s practice is primarily concentrated on the defense of hospitals, medical professionals, and railroads from liability claims filed in state and federal courts. He additionally has a broad range of experience representing and advising corporate, individual, and government clients in litigated cases, appeals, administrative proceedings, transactions, investigations, and compliance.

Miller has served as President of the McCracken County Bar Association, co-founded Common Defense (semi-annual member publication of Kentucky Defense Counsel, Inc.), and is rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell® (Peer Rated for Highest Level of Professional Excellence).

Background
David was born and raised in western Kentucky and returned to Paducah after completing his education. David graduated magna cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Spanish Language & Literature from Transylvania University in 2007. He received a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce in 2010. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2011, where he served as a production editor on the Kentucky Law Journal.
Experience

After graduating from law school, David completed a two-year clerkship with Judge Thomas B. Russell in the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. He has practiced at the firm since September 2013, and is admitted in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

David’s primary practice areas focus on civil litigation defense. He frequently defends hospitals, medical professionals, railroads, and other businesses in state and federal litigation. Outside of litigation, David assists these same clients with quality improvement, safety enhancement, and liability investigations, and represents them in proceedings before state and federal agencies. David is also versed in Kentucky education law and assists school boards and other administrators in operating their districts.

In 2018, Super Lawyers recognized David as a Kentucky Rising Star in the area of Civil Litigation Defense.

Background

A native of Ballard County, Ben received his bachelor’s degree in Government from Centre College in 2008, where he was named valedictorian. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2011, where he was a staff member of the Kentucky Law Journal and graduated first in his class. Ben is admitted to practice in all Kentucky state courts and the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky.

Experience

After completing his education, Ben returned home to begin his legal career. He joined Bradley, Freed & Grumley, P.S.C., in 2014 and became a Member of the firm in 2017. Ben has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation. Ben currently concentrates his practice on the defense of hospitals, medical professionals, and railroads from liability claims in state and federal courts. He also assists clients in construction disputes, automobile personal injury claims, and professional liability defense. Ben has represented corporate, individual, and government clients and continues to apply his knowledge and experience to a variety of litigated claims.

Whitney and her family moved to Paducah from Maysville, Kentucky in 2007. Whitney received bachelor’s degrees in History and International Studies from Centre College in 2009. She graduated cum laude from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in May 2012.

Whitney has practiced law in Paducah since 2012. Whitney is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.

Whitney has many years of experience assisting clients with their estate planning needs, including the preparation of Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Living Will Directives, Prenuptial & Postnuptial Agreements, and other estate planning documents. Whitney also advises business owners and farmers on succession plans.

Whitney has represented executors, administrators, trustees, and beneficiaries in probate, estate, and trust administration matters. She has also represented guardians, conservators, and wards in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings.

From business formation to dissolution, Whitney has assisted a wide range of business clients, including limited liability companies, corporations, partnerships, professional service entities, and non-profit entities. Whitney advises on operating agreements, buy-sale agreements, stock restriction agreements, employment agreements, and miscellaneous contract matters. She has also represented buyers and sellers in business acquisitions and mergers.

Whitney’s real estate experience includes assisting clients with real estate closings, real estate contracts, promissory notes, mortgages, leases, landlord-tenant issues, quiet title actions, partition actions, eminent domain and condemnation proceedings, and zoning, variance, and subdivision/development applications with Planning and Zoning Administrators.

GORMAN “BUTCH” BRADLEY

Background
Butch attended the University of Kentucky and obtained his bachelor’s degree in 1976 and law degree in 1979. Prior to that, he severed in the U.S. Army from 1971-74. Butch is admitted to practice law in Kentucky, the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Experience
With an emphasis on criminal law, Butch’s career covers a wide variety of practice areas. After graduating from law school, Butch moved to Paducah where he served as Assistant Commonwealth Attorney from 1980-82. Since that time, he has started and been part of several successful Paducah firms focusing on criminal defense, workers comp, domestic relations, and personal injury. In May 1998, Butch joined Jonathan Freed in founding this firm’s predecessor, Bradley & Freed, P.S.C. In the summer of 2017, Butch became Of Counsel but remains actively engaged in the criminal defense practice and frequently advised clients in the area of education law and administration.

Jon attended the University of Delaware and obtained his bachelor’s degree in 1973. He graduated from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in May 1976, and was admitted to practice law by the Kentucky Bar Association in October 1976. He is also admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Experience
Jon’s career encompasses the full spectrum of civil litigation beginning in 1976. In May 1998, after serving 22 years with the Paducah office of Boehl, Stopher & Graves, Jon left his position as its Managing Partner to join Gorman “Butch” Bradley in founding Bradley & Freed, P.S.C., this firm’s predecessor. Having witnessed the development of his successors’ commitment to the practice of law, in the summer of 2017, Jon began his transition to Of Counsel status. Jon remains engaged in the practice of law with Bradley, Freed & Grumley, P.S.C. and accepts new civil case assignments of interest selectively.
